DraftKings Buys VSiN
DraftKings Buys VSiN: DraftKings (DK) continued its trek in the sports gambling world by announcing on Tuesday that they acquired the sports betting broadcast company Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN).
What is VSiN?
VSiN was founded in 2017 by the Musburger family and following former ESPN announcer Brent Musburger’s Departure from VSiN has operated in Las Vegas. VSiN produces up to 18 hours of live linear sports betting content a day.
What is DraftKings?
DK is an American daily fantasy sports betting operator and was established in 2012 by Jason Robbins, Matthew Kalish, and Paul Liberman who were all former Vistaprint employees. DraftKings has many partnerships most notably with the MLB, NFL, ESPN, and Fox Sports.
DraftKings allows users to enter daily or weekly fantasy sports competitions and win cash based on the performance of individual players in the MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA, PGA, UEFA Champions League soccer, NASCAR, Canadian Football League, mixed martial arts, and Tennis.
The acquisition of VSiN will provide more content for DraftKings, which has retail or online sports betting services in 14 states. This deal continues the trend of sports betting and gambling companies acquiring broadcast partners to reach more sports betting customers.
VSiN CEO Brian Musburger and his team will continue to run the day to day operations and keep editorial independence. Also, VSiN employees will be integrated into the DK’s workforce and both companies have offices in Vegas.
“VSiN creates authentic and credible content that resonates with sports bettors at every level, whether they’re experienced or new to sports betting,” DraftKings’ co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board Jason Robins said in the announcement release.
“In addition to its brand equity among sports bettors and engaging talent roster, VSiN also has an established infrastructure that DraftKings can immediately help expand, in the hopes of adding value to consumers who are looking to become more knowledgeable about sports betting.”
“We created VSiN as a destination for sports bettors to find the most credible content to help inform their wagering decisions,” Brian Musburger, CEO of VSiN, said in a statement. “Harnessing the power and network of the DraftKings brand will allow us to reach an even wider audience with our unique content.”
