Churchill Downs will host three stakes races on Sunday, November 13. Grade III River City Stakes is the crown jewel of those trio of races with a strong field of 12.

Things are starting to heat up for the 2022 Breeders Cup as Breeders Cup Limited, the corporation that runs the event, released several news releases regarding the 14 World Championship races that will take place next weekend. The 39th Breeders Cup will be held at Keeneland Race Park (Lexington, KY) on Nov 4 -5.
The Breeders Cup generally impacts the Horse of the Year race. 2022 is no different though the World Championships could play a bigger part in determining the top Eclipse winner as five of the top six contenders for the award are participating in the Breeders Cup Classic.
American horses have not fared well on the turf at the Breeders Cup overall, except at the Juvenile level. The Americans have a good shot at keeping the World Championship trophies at the Juvenile level in the U.S. in 2022.
Keeneland Race Course opened its fall meet on Friday. The race course will host a total of nine Breeders Cup prep races on its Fall Stars weekend, which includes three on Sunday.
The 2022 Breeders Cup is six weeks away, but registration for the event’s Betting Challenge has already open. It is expected that this year’s total prize will be $1.25 million with the top prize being $360,000.

Labor Day Weekend is huge for Del Mar Thoroughbred Race Track as they host seven stakes events on Saturday and Sunday. Grade I $1 million TVG Pacific Classic headlines the weekend, although there are three Grade II stakes races and two Grade III.
Sam Houston Race Park is tentatively slated to have 43 race days in 2023. While the track will have a new $100,000 stakes race and Texas Champions Day, there are questions surrounding the Houston Racing Festival.
Parx Casino will host the 21st Pennsylvania Day on August 22, which will see a record 142 entries in 13 races. Seven of the events are stakes races worth $100,000 each, meaning that the total prize purse of the day will be over $1 million.
