Oklahoma vs Texas Tech Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 9
- Texas Tech heads into Norman and gives the 4th-ranked Sooners a scare
- Oklahoma survives yet again to stay undefeated
- Expect plenty of points as both teams will be looking to score
Two of the most explosive offensive teams in the Big 12 Conference are set to square off on Saturday for a huge showdown. The 8-0 Oklahoma Sooners are set to host the 5-3 Texas Red Raiders and there is still time to make a push for the conference title.
Oklahoma has moved up to the number fourth-ranked team in the country, and the Sooners are in a good position to get back to the College Football Playoffs. The Sooners have been challenged more than a few times this season, but have always lived up to the task.
Texas Tech has had an up-and-down season and they haven’t been able to put together a long winning streak. The Red Raiders suffered a 25-24 loss to Kansas State in their most recent game, and that came after blowing a big lead.

Oklahoma vs Texas Tech Prediction: Spread
The fact that Texas Tech is able to put up points so quickly gives them a shot to keep this game close for four quarters. Oklahoma has struggled to get stops at times, and they don’t always know how to protect a lead.
The Sooners are trying to find some consistency as they haven’t always shown up to begin a game. Falling behind on Saturday against Texas Tech could prove to be a big challenge, even at home.

A spread of nearly three touchdowns is simply too large for this game as it should be a tight battle. Oklahoma should win the game, but taking the 19.5 points is the right play in this game.

Oklahoma vs Texas Tech Prediction: MoneyLine
It’s pretty clear that Oklahoma is the better overall team in this game, but that doesn’t make them the best betting choice. There is no reason to take the Sooners at -1,100 as there just isn’t a ton of value there.
Kansas nearly upset Oklahoma last week, and Texas Tech is much better than the Sooners. The Sooners look to be on upset alert and that is why there is some value in betting on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The other two betting options are much better to explore for this game, but the only option would be taking the Texas Tech Red Raiders at +700.
- Free Prediction: Texas Tech +700
Oklahoma vs Texas Tech Prediction: Total
Both of these teams are averaging at least 34 points per game this season, and they don’t play a ton of defense either. This looks like a game that could end up in the 80s if both teams play well, but things don’t always play out like they should.
Texas Tech has almost been as impressive as Oklahoma has been on the offensive side of the ball. Wide receiver Erik Ezukanma has 32 receptions for 508 yards this season and he will have a big impact on this game.
Oklahoma has already made a quarterback change this season, but it hasn’t slowed them down at all. The Sooners struggled to get things going against Kansas a week ago, but they should bounce back in a big way.
It’s going to take at least 40 points to win this game, and that will push the point total to more than 66.5 points.
- Free Prediction: Over 66.5
