The 2021 college football season has held lots of surprises so far, but don’t expect any out of this game. Coastal Carolina is ranked 15 in the nation and is on an absolute roll. Arkansas State is following up a disappointing 2020 season with an even more disappointing 2021. They have a new head coach and a new strategy, but the same old defensive woes. At 1-4, the season is off to a disappointing start to say the least.
Coastal Carolina has one of the best offenses in the nation and a defense that’s only giving up 14 points a game. They have won their last two games by a combined score of 112-9. If that’s not domination, I don’t know what is. Granted, Arkansas State has had a slightly tougher overall schedule than CCU, but they’re on a four-game losing streak and show no signs of stopping.

Starting quarterback, Grayson McCall is having a heck of a year with 10 passing touchdowns and only 1 interception. He’s also added 2 rushing touchdowns and has thrown for over 1,100 yards in the early going.
The running game has kept a steady pace with McCall as they are averaging a combined 6.4 yards per carry. They’re led by Reece White who has 374 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on just 53 carries. The Chanticleers simply have too much talent on both sides of the ball for Arkansas State to keep pace.
