Charles Woodson Becomes Latest FOX Bet Ambassador
FOX Bet signed NFL Hall of Famer Charles Woodson on Tuesday to become the newest brand ambassador for the sportsbook. FOX Bet has attempted to win markets in the legal industry by signing legendary athletes to promote the platforms.
Charles Woodson’s Duties as Brand Ambassador
Woodson signing with the sportsbook coincides with his role on FOX Sports as an analyst during the NFL season. Woodson will be on FOX NFL Kickoff every Sunday morning, and the sportsbook will be promoted throughout these programs.
After the announcement that the nine-time Pro Bowler joined the FOX Bet team, Woodson released a statement.
“Whether on the field or off it, I always look for new ways to supercharge the sports experience for football fans. My new team at both FOX Bet & FOX Sports share in my commitment to that approach, and I am looking forward to a very exciting 2021 season.”
Woodson will produce original content for the sportsbook along with appearing on marketing campaigns for FOX Bet. The Super Bowl Champion will join fellow panelists and Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Shannon Sharpe to promote FOX Bet.
FOX Bet has inked World Series Champion David Ortiz and NASCAR Series Champion Clint Bowyer, who cover MLB and racing for FOX, respectively.
The strategy of sportsbooks signing popular brand ambassadors has been a growing trend in the United States. On Monday, Shaquille O’Neil joined the WynnBET team as a sportsbook representative.
Shaq’s partner, Charles Barkley, has been an ambassador for FanDuel since 2020. In hockey, the Great One Wayne Gretzky became part of BetMGM, and in soccer, Lionel Messi joined Hard Rock Sportsbook.
Drew Brees has inked a deal with PointsBet, Marshawn Lynch works with BetMGM, Chad Johnson is part of WynnBET, and Brett Favre is an ambassador for TwinSpires.
Woodson’s Connection to Michigan
FOX Bet is doing its best to win the state of Michigan. This is a critical market that is young to online sports betting. Woodson, a Michigan Wolverine legend, started three years for the maize and blue. He was the fourth overall pick in the 1998 draft who went onto win a Super Bowl with the Packers.
FOX Bet is live in Michigan, Colorado, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. FOX, which primarily broadcasts the NFC, makes the Lions, Eagles, and Giants key fan bases to acquire.
FOX Bet will be incorporated into the television broadcast of NFL games in 2021. If Woodson can help the sportsbook win Michigan, he will be an admirable, worthy signee for the sportsbook.
In addition to betting content, Charles Woodson will be asked to contribute to the FOX Super 6 app. This is FOX’s free-to-play game, where people must guess on possible player outcomes in various competitions.
FOX Bet Super 6 has helped the sportsbook’s presence grow throughout the country. The app launched before the 2019 NFL season, and it has paid more than $5 million in prizes. As FOX Bet expands, the Super 6 app will help the book become a worthwhile platform in the United States.
