WWE Money in the Bank Predictions
WWE will present Money in the Bank on Saturday, July 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The premium live event was originally scheduled to be held at Allegiant Stadium.
The 2022 edition will be the 13th installment of Money in the Bank, which is now considered to be a major WWE pay-per-view alongside Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
Money in the Bank is centered around the Money in the Bank ladder matches, in which eight men and eight women will compete for a chance to climb a ladder and win the Money in the Bank briefcase. The briefcase will afford the respective winners an opportunity to challenge for the world championship at any time or moment.
Wrestlers from Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, the two longest weekly episodic television shows in history, will compete at the event. Four title bouts are scheduled to take place.
The full card has not been finalized yet, but these matches have been announced so far ((c) for champion):
1. Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella, Singles match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship
2. Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus vs. Omos vs. Sami Zayn vs. Riddle vs. TBD in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match
3. Lacey Evans vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka vs. Shotzi vs. Becky Lynch in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match
4. Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Natayla, Singles match for the WWE Smackdown’s Women’s Championship
5. The Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), Tag Team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship
6. Theory (c) vs. Bobby Lashley, Singles match for the WWE United States Championship
Let’s dive into the matchups for this flagship event.
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella, Singles match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Belair was originally scheduled to compete against Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam but Ripley was removed from the match due to injury. Carmella winning the belt at Money in the Bank is unlikely, so Belair should pick up the win in a compelling match.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus vs. Omos vs. Sami Zayn vs. Riddle vs. TBD in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match
Rollins will win the briefcase for the second time in his career over a stacked field from both Raw and SmackDown. Coming off three straight losses to “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, who is now out with a torn pectoral muscle, it is time for “The Visionary” to gain a significant win.
Having Seth win the briefcase, cash it in on WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns, and eventually drop the titles to Rhodes at next year’s WrestleMania would be a smart plan for WWE.
Lacey Evans vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka vs. Shotzi vs. Becky Lynch in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match
This is Liv Morgan’s time to shine. She has steadily been gaining momentum and is a fan-favorite among the WWE Universe.
Having someone like Morgan win the briefcase can catapult her to new heights and reach levels of superstardom among talents such as Becky Lynch and Asuka who have establishsed themselves as two of WWE’s most marketable womens wrestlers.
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Natayla, Singles match for the WWE Smackdown’s Women’s Championship
Natalya presents no credible threat to Rousey’s championship, but this still should be an exciting match. It will also be interesting to see who WWE builds up for Ronda’s next defense at SummerSlam after dethroning Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash two months ago.
The Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), Tag Team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship
The Usos are undoubtedly the most skilled tag team in the company, having been at the forefront of the tag team division for the past year. Although a title change is possible, wait until SummerSlam for Jey and Jimmy to drop the belts.
Theory (c) vs. Bobby Lashley, Singles match for the WWE United States Championship
Lashley is just a filler opponent for the rising Theory. A returning John Cena will likely face Theory for the United States Championship at SummerSlam. A loss to Theory will not halt Lashley’s momentum as he is still a credible contender in the world championship scene and one of the top babyfaces on Raw.
