Why Sergio Ramos Should Go To PSG in 2021
Sergio Ramos, arguably the most dominant center back of his generation is leaving Real Madrid. The club captain has played there since 2005 and was named captain of the club once club legend Iker Casillas left for Porto.
After playing over 460 games for Real Madrid and scoring 72 goals his time at the club has come to a finish. 72 goals for a center-back is crazy by the way.
It also seems that his time with the national team is done, having 180 appearances for the Spanish National team and having 23 goals. He is the most capped player for the national team.
PSG is the Right Place for Sergio Ramos
There are several factors pushing him towards a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but one key consideration is Neymar’s presence at the Ligue 1 giants. Ramos and Neymar have been in contact since the defender’s Real Madrid exit was confirmed.
Ramos is a long-time admirer of the Brazilian, so much so that he once urged Madrid president Florentino Pérez to sign the star during an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena SER. Ramos and Neymar have a very good relationship and the pair have exchanged several messages.
AS understand that, in descending order of likelihood as a destination, Ramos is talking to four clubs: PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. In each case, his demands are the same: he wants a two-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months if certain objectives are met. The Spaniard is not only looking for the most enticing sporting project, but also a move that best suits his wife and four children, so it is a decision he is at pains to think over very carefully.
Paris is the closest city to Spain and, within the PSG squad, Spanish is one of the dominant languages. Ramos would be reunited with friends and former Madrid teammates Keylor Navas and Ángel di María, and would also share a dressing room with compatriots Pablo Sarabia, Ander Herrera, Sergio Rico, and Juan Bernat.
PSG made it to the Champions League Final last season and was knocked out in the semi-finals this season by Manchester City. PSG has one of the most lethal attacks in the world with Mbappe and Neymar, and a great center back in Marquinhos.
Marquinhos is used to playing with one of the best center backs in the world. Thiago Silva, now a Chelsea player, played for PSG and captained them for years and was arguably the best center back in the world along with Sergio Ramos.
There have also been rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo may want to leave Juventus and PSG is one of the high names on his list. If Ronaldo lands at PSG, I fully expect PSG to get Sergio Ramos and have an invincible season and should win the Champions League.
