6 NFL Week 4 Bets I Like:
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -6.5 at New England Patriots
Listing this game anywhere but first on this list would be a crime against the game of football. Tom Brady returns to Foxborough for the first time. Whatever Brady’s over/under stats are for yards and touchdowns go ahead and take those too.
- Bet amount: 2 units.
2. Kansas City Chiefs -7.5 at Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles got embarrassed on MNF against the Cowboys and the Chiefs have lost two straight games. A banged-up and struggling Eagles team against an angry Patrick Mahomes is a bad omen in the city of brotherly love.
- Bet amount: 2 units.
3. Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys -4.5
The Cowboys looked like a well-oiled machine against the Eagles except for one offensive blunder that gave the Eagles seven points. A second straight home game against a Panthers team without Christian McCaffrey and Jaycee Horn puts the Cowboys in a position to move to 3-1.
- Bet amount: 1 unit.
4. Washington Football Team -1.5 at Atlanta Falcons
Washington has mostly been disappointing this year. The defense has not lived up to expectations and has given up almost 40 points per game over the last two weeks. Each of these teams’ one win came on a last-second field goal against the Giants so it should be a toss-up. I don’t see the Falcons line being able to block Chase Young and company and a defensive touchdown could be in play.
- Bet amount: ½ unit.
5. Cleveland Browns -2.5 at Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings seem to pop up on this write-up in one way or another each week. Each of those weeks I’ve fallen on the wrong side. The Browns dominated the Bears last week in Justin Fields’ debut while Minnesota knocked off Seattle at home without Dalvin Cook. Expect Myles Garrett to continue his streak and get after Kirk Cousins this week while the Browns running game finds paydirt a few times.
- Bet amount: 1 unit.
6. Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers -3.5
6 NFL Week 4 Bets to Avoid:
1. Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals -7.5
Battle of the last two number one overall picks. Joe Burrow is recovering nicely from his ACL injury and is enjoying having his old LSU teammate Jamar Chase catching passes on Sundays. Trevor Lawrence needs to start throwing the ball to the right team if the Jags are going to win some games.
2. Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins -2.5
Very tough start to the season for both teams. Injuries to both quarterbacks leave question marks of what kind of play we’ll see. How much stock should we put in the Jacoby Brissett revenge factor?
3. Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills -16.5
Moving on with our NFL week 4 bets to avoid, let’s talk about Texans vs Bills! Even with the dominance the Bills displayed last week this line is just too big to touch in the NFL.
4. Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers -3
Aaron Rodgers broke the Niners’ hearts with 37 seconds left last week like he’s done to so many other fan bases. Seattle is reeling after back-to-back losses. This should be a fun one to watch.
5. Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos -1
The Broncos are 3-0 but haven’t been tested at all. Their opponents to start the season haven’t won a game this year. Baltimore has shown a flair for the dramatic in their first three games and you never know what you’re going to see from Lamar Jackson. Staying off this line for the week.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers at Green Bay Packers -7
One of these quarterbacks looks washed up and it’s not the one with a mullet and scruff. Big Ben looked dreadful against Cincinnati a week ago and some in the Steelers organization are questioning if they should have moved on in the offseason. Rodgers has rallied the troops after getting trounced in Week 1 and if TJ Watt is out again this week this one could get ugly.
