Lane Kiffin Has Given Me Betting PTSD…HOTTY TODDY!
Lane Kiffin is known for taking risks. If there is one coach in the FBS that will go for it on fourth down inside his ten-yard line in the first quarter, it’s Kiffin. This may seem like an exaggeration, but do not put it past the leader of the Rebels.
On Saturday, Kiffin’s Rebels bested #11 Texas A&M with a 29-19 win. Ole Miss started strong on offense, but the defense was the reason for the victory.
I locked in the Rebels at +100, so it was a great night for my wallet. However, this does not mean that I do not have betting PTSD. If you have ridden with Kiffin at any time during his tenure at Ole Miss, I am sure you feel the same way.
Although, Kiffin’s risks paid off in Oxford on Saturday, and for that, I have nothing to say but HOTTY TODDY.
Defense, Defense, and More Defense
Mississippi’s defense delivered after a rough second half against Liberty one week ago. Texas A&M has one of the best defenses in the SEC, but they were taken to school in Oxford in this top 25 showdown.
A.J. Finley sealed the deal down the final stretch of the game, returning an interception for a 52-yard touchdown. The defense’s strong outing was compounded with a terrific night from Rebels’ quarterback Matt Corral, who threw for 247 yards and a score.
After the game, Kiffin praised his defense for holding strong when the Rebels’ offense went stagnant.
He said, “The defense just had an amazing day. That came against one of the hottest teams in America. Just an unbelievable great day overall.”
Ole Miss held a 15-13 lead in the fourth quarter before an Ashanti Cistrunk set up a 13-yard Snoop Connor touchdown run. This made it 21-13 with 6:32 remaining in the game.
Finley’s pick-six followed this stretch, allowing Oxford to begin celebrating. The win over #11 Texas A&M should move Ole Miss into the top 10. They will host Vanderbilt next Saturday to complete their three-game homestand.
Betting on Lane Kiffin
Betting on Lane Kiffin has been very good to me this season. The Rebels have performed when I have decided to take a risk on the most daring coach in college football. This does not mean that I have not had some wild rides rolling with the Rebels’ leader.
Kiffin takes chances, and there were numerous moments on Saturday when I nearly broke my television screen. However, if you hang in there with the team, it will usually end up in your favor.
There will be countless lows betting on Kiffin’s Rebels, but the highs are worth the grueling journey.
Ole Miss ML (+100)…HOTTY FREAKIN TODDY.
