Five Favorites and Why They Will Cover on Saturday College Football Week 4

We have a packed Saturday slate with plenty of action across the board. I believe the better teams take care of business. Here are the 5 favorites I am on for Saturday.

Five Favorites and Why They Will Cover on Saturday College Football Week 4

Texas A&M -8

Even with a tough 48-33 loss to Miami in week 2, the Aggies are an ultra-talented team with much more to prove heading into SEC play. Connor Weigman is an elite quarterback and the weapons around him are explosive.

Auburn has been very underwhelming to start the season having been 1-2 against the spread. In Auburn’s only away game at Cal, they put up a total of 14 points and less than 100 yards passing. I don’t think Auburn has the firepower to keep up with the Texas A&M offense so give me the Aggies at home.

Oregon -21

The bet nobody wants to take, but I will! It’s time for Deion and his fairy tale football land to get humbled. Oregon is going to use all the flash Colorado brings as fuel. The Ducks are a much different beast than anything the Buffs have played so far. Led by the experienced Bo Nix, the Ducks have a top five offense in all of college football.

Through three games they have averaged 587 yards per game and nation’s second highest 7.1 yards per carry. I don’t see how the Buffs defense could possibly stop this offense. It has been fun to watch Colorado compete, but this is just too tough of a spot for them to overcome as they don’t have the talent to keep up with Oregon. The spread is 21 for a reason, let’s roll with the much better team at home.

Indiana -16.5

While 1-2 isn’t a great start, the Hoosiers have played up to their competition covering against Louisville and Ohio State. Akron is not strong up front and that showed last week in a 35-3 loss to Kentucky.

This is also a night game for Indiana so it should be a better crowd than usual. I expect some Big Ten bully ball here and the Hoosiers win in a rout.

Penn State -14

Throughout the James Franklin era Penn State has kept their name in the contender conversation, but have not made much noise… This season, things change. I believe Penn State has a legit national championship type team and this game is going to put them on the map. They have dominated in the first three games going 3-0 against the spread.

The defense has looked stellar and the running attack is strong. Even with Cade McNamara, I am no believer in the outdated Iowa offense. Iowa simply can’t score enough points to stay in a big game like this. The classic White out environment will have State College ready to roll over the Hawkeyes.

Maryland -8

Besides the fact the entire Michigan State football program is in shambles, I actually believe Maryland is a top end Big Ten team this year. The growth of Taulia Tagovailoa is evident as he looks like an elite gunslinger.

Michigan State has really struggled to develop any run game and Maryland’s defense should hold up. This number is just too low as Maryland is a much better team with more to play for.
