Duke vs Georgia Tech Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 6
- Both of these teams are looking to bounce back after blowout losses.
- Defense has been an ongoing issue for the Blue Devils
- Turnovers continue to be a problem for the Yellow Jackets
The Duke Blue Devils and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are looking to bounce back after horrible losses a weekend ago. Both of these teams were beaten by 31 points and while neither was favored the way they were handled was pretty shocking. Georgia Tech was coming off a huge upset win over North Carolina before the Pittsburg defeat. Duke put up 52 points against Kansas before turning around and scoring one touchdown against longtime rival North Carolina.
Both of these teams will look to get back on track and to winning ways this Saturday when they face off in Durham. Unfortunately, one team has to lose, but both of these teams are hoping to make a bowl game this season so every win and game counts as we are halfway through the college football season.

Duke vs Georgia Tech Prediction: Spread
The Jackets were fresh off a 261-yard rushing week in the win over UNC but took a huge step back against Pitt only posting 73 yards for the game. The two back system of Gibbs and Mason was expected to be a huge asset for the Yellow Jackets this season but so far it has not been inconsistent.
It looks like Jeff Sims has taken back the quarterback position this year. The sophomore was 24/33 for 359 yards and was the source of offense against the Panthers. On the first two drives of the game Sims threw two interceptions leading to a 14-0 hole to start. Sims had an issue with turnover last season so the Jackets hope this is something he can clean up.
The Blue Devils defense has forced fine turnovers already this season so they are more than capable at causing problems. Overall, they are 13th in the conference at containing the pass after Sam Howell threw for 321 yards this past weekend. The rush defense has been the biggest issue and this could help wake up the duo backs of Georgia Tech.

Duke vs Georgia Tech Prediction: MoneyLine
In the UNC game, Duke looked like it was going to have an effective game running the ball. Durant had 88 yards on his first seven carries and the Blue Devils were moving the chains. Over the next 12 carries Duke totaled 26 total yards. Finding a way to run the ball needs to be a focus.

The Yellow Jacket defense was the biggest surprise in the loss against Pitt. They allowed 52 points and 580 yards of total offense in the week 5 loss. Handling the run of Duke will be a priority but over the course of their last two games, the Yellow Jackets have given up more than 300 passing yards.

Duke vs Georgia Tech Prediction: Total
Sims ability to protect and manage this game will be a major factor in the outcome of how this turns out. The Yellow Jackets are -3 in turnover margin this season. Sims is a very explosive player but turnovers have held him back in the last two seasons.
Duke has its own woes in the turnover department as well, as they have not been on the + side of things since 2014. This should be a back-forth contest and close till Georgia Tech earns a late score.
Expect a high-scoring affair and this game to hit the over.
