Central Michigan Football Preview 2022
Central Michigan Football Preview
Central Michigan Football might become a one man show. It will be difficult for Lew Nichols III to repeat or exceed his statistics from last season. The running back ran for 1,848 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on 341 carries. He will likely be the main focus of he offense of head coach Jim McElwain and the Chippewas.
The best part of this is the running back spot is an electrifying combo which also includes Kobe Lewis who was a 1,000 yard carrier in 2019. the two RB’s will be a dynamic duo in the MAC. Quarterback Daniel Richardson tossed for 24 touchdowns and 2,633 yards last season but threw six interceptions.
Last season Kalli Pimpleton was the top receiver but he is gone this year and Dallas Dixon and Joel Wilson will get the bulk of the work in the air.
Other MAC Previews:
The Chippewas lost a bunch of talent from the defense to the transfer portal as the five leading tacklers from 2021 are gone. Returning is Donte Kent. Rolliann Sturkey, Justin Whiteside and Kyle Moretti. The interior is the strongest part is anchored by Robi Stuart and Jacques Bristol.
There should be enough in this roster to keep the Chippewas near the top of the division and the conference. The schedule has them opening up at Oklahoma State and going to Penn State later in September. Looking at an 8-4 record in 2022.
