Why Someone Under the Age of 27 Will be NBA Finals MVP
Is it finally the end of winning championships for players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and many more? Today, we will be discussing why some players under the age of 27 will win the NBA Finals and be the NBA Finals MVP.
Giannis Antetokounmpo | Most Likely NBA Finals MVP Under 27
The first player I will be mentioning is the 26-year-old “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo. The 2 time MVP winner has not shown much promise in the NBA playoffs before this season, but we’ve already seen amazing quality from him and the Milwaukee Bucks thrashing the Miami Heat in a 4 game sweep.
With him averaging 23.5 points, almost 8 assists and a crazy 15 rebounds per game, we see that he is embracing himself more as a playmaker and is ready to win big games.
Nikola Jokic
MVP! That is all I have to say for you to understand why he should be on this list. Jokic, 26 years old, is most likely the MVP of the league, averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists per game as a center. Jokic has now become more of a scorer in the playoffs with the horrible injury to future all-star Jamal Murray, averaging 33 points a game in the series versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
With how much more offensively needed he is and not many people who can defend this amazing player, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic go far and we see this man be both the MVP of the league and the Finals!
Donovan Mitchell
One of the most entertaining players to watch in the league, Donovan Mitchell, 24 years old, is on the best team in the NBA. Donovan Mitchell is known to be a crazy athlete and a phenomenal scorer. The Utah Jazz have been the best team in the league this year and their superstar Donovan Mitchell is one huge reason why they are.
Mitchell was carrying a slight injury going into the playoffs and had to miss game 1 but now with how healthy he is and his late-game heroics shown this year and last year, we can see Mitchell scoring 30 plus points a game and bring the best team in the league to win it all.
Devin Booker
Devin Booker is shockingly only 24 years old. It feels like he’s been in the league for so long as one of the most elite scorers in the league. Beating the King and the Lakers showed that the Phoenix Suns are the real deal. The addition of Chris Paul has really helped Booker raise his field goal percentage and has made the Suns have a leader on the court.
Throughout the playoffs, Booker has raised all of his percentages, including raising his 3 point field goal percentage by 9 percent from the regular season. If Booker keeps putting up 30 points a game it will be hard to stop this man and the Suns.
Luka Doncic
The future of the league. Doncic, only 22 years old, has already shown in the playoffs that he is one of the best players in the league and for sure a future NBA Finals MVP. The Dallas Mavericks have not yet won their first-round matchup but it is currently 3-2 and Doncic’s back has for sure been hurting.

Averaging almost a 35 point triple-double a game, this kid is a freak of nature. Some people may say he doesn’t have the pieces around him to get to the finals but I believe in Luka Magic and don’t be shocked if this man is the finals MVP.
Joel Embiid
Embiid I was a little concerned about putting on this list with the partial tear in his knee, but I could not not put him on this list. Embiid arguably was MVP of the league until a mid-season injury.
Embiid is on the best team in the Eastern Conference and has to play a much weaker team in the 2nd round compared to the Nets vs Bucks. Even if Embiid isn’t playing as many minutes as he wants and he can, the 76ers should be able to easily beat the Atlanta Hawks and have a fully fit and healthy Joel Embiid who can help bring them to the NBA Finals.
Who is Missing?
Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr. are both very arguable players you can also put in the NBA Finals MVP conversation. Young is on a team that would be very hard to bet against the 76ers and Porter Jr. is the 2nd option on his team, I would not be against putting on a bet on the Porter bet but Jokic is for sure the better option as far as this year’s NBA Finals MVP is concerned.
