Triller Fight Club Legends 2 – This week we cover boxing’s latest bizarre event including Holyfield, Belfort, Tito, Spider Silva, David Haye and ….Donald Trump???

Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort

Evander Holyfield

44-10-2, 29 KOs

Vitor Belfort

1-0, 1 KO

MMA: 26-14-1, 18KOs

Nationality: USA

Stance: Orthodox

Height: 6’-2 ½”

Reach: 78”

Age: 58

Nationality: Brazil

Stance: Southpaw

Height: 6’-0”

Reach: 74”

Age: 44

Headlining the card are two legends from the combat world, as MMA will be represented by Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort who will enter the ring against Boxer Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield. The main event lost most of its appeal and betting lines to boot, when Oscar De La Hoya was hospitalized with COVID 19 last week, opening the door for Holyfield as a replacement fighter. This would have marked Oscars return after 13 years.

This is a dangerous fight for the 58 year old Holyfield as his prime was nearly a quarter century ago. Belfort is no spring chicken but is still 14 years younger and has remained fairly active. Belfort was always known for his hand sticking during his MMA career, and had a notorious run as “TRT Vitor”. I am not sure how strict the drug testing is at Triller but foul play should not come as a surprise. This fight was originally set to take place in California but was moved to Florida to accomodate any boxing licence issues Holyfield was likely to face.

A surprising announcement was made that former president Donald Trump will provide “unfiltered” boxing commentary throughout the Main Event.

Prediction: Belfort by Decision

**No Bettings Lines Available on Major Sportsbooks For this Fight**

Tito Ortiz (+550) vs Anderson Silva (-1000)

Tito Ortiz

MMA: 21-12-1, 10 KOs

Anderson Silva

2-1, 1 KO

MMA: 34-11-1, 23 KOs

Nationality: USA

Age: 46

Anderson “The Spider” Silva is coming off a shocking split decision victory against boxer Julio Chavez Jr (56-6-1, 34 KOs). This was a great feat for Silva as Chavez Jr is 11 years younger than him and a former world champion boxer. Silva looks to keep the momentum going with a win over TIto, he has stated he would like to fight for 3 more years with possible names including the Paul brothers and MMA Legend Georges St-Pierre. The GSP fight would have combat sports fans hyped, as this superfight was supposed to take place in both of their primes.

Tito Ortiz makes his pro boxing debut in this fight and will have the odds stacked against him with a big weight cut stipulated in the contract. Tito expressed his frustrations with Silva during an interview with TMZ Sports.

“I’ve never made 195 in my whole career of 24 years, and I’m going to try like hell to make it, and I will make it. But at the same time, I just kind of lost a little respect for the guy. Someone who’s been a great world champion, he’s fought at 205 over six times, he’s fought for the world title at 205. But once again, it shows that he respects my power and he’s trying to make me weak. But hey, as I do in every one of my fights, I’m going to make it exciting, I’m going to fight, and I’m going to make this vicious.”

It is a tall mountain to climb for Tito as Anderson is the superior striker paired with a large weight cut.

Prediction: Silva TKO

David Haye (-1000) vs Joe Fournier (+550)

David Haye

28-4, 27 KOs

Joe Fournier

9-0, 9 KOs

Nationality: UK

Stance: Orthodox

Height: 6’-3”

Reach: 78”

Age: 40

Nationality: UK

Stance: Orthodox

Height: 6’-0”

Reach: NA

Age: 38

These two fighters are not strangers to each other, and as it may look like a mismatch Joe Fournier thinks differently based on previous sparring rounds between the two. Fournier, who is undefeated against lack lust opponents, went as far as stating he once broke Haye’s nose.

“So there was one occasion in Miami where I’ve hit him with a left hook and bang – broken nose – blood literally everywhere. Imagine if that was a 10 oz glove without headgear, what would really have happened? You do think about it.”

Haye didn’t deny the claim and said he has felt Founier’s power but stated the good shot that bloodied his nose was Fouriers “Claim to Fame”.

This is a hard fight to call as both fighters are friends outside of the ring, with the idea of the fight coming over drinks and dinner they shared while hanging out in the islands of Greece. This fight amongst friends was scheduled to be an Exhibition based on California rules but since the move to Florida this will be an official bout on both fighters records.

Prediction: I like the +250 on the fight to the go the distance, as this sounds like more of a “hard” sparring session between friends.

Andy Vences (-120) vs Jono Carroll (-120)

Andy Vences

23-2-1, 12 KOs

Jono Carroll

19-2-1, 4 KOs

Nationality: USA

Stance: Orthodox

Height: 5’-8 ½”

Reach: 72”

Age: 30

Nationality: USA

Stance: Southpaw

Height: 6’-0”

Reach: 74”

Age: 29

This fight was originally set to take place in July, but ended up being postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test. Ander Vences lost his last bout to Luis Alberto Lopez (20-2) by split decision. While Jono Carrol is coming off a stoppage win over 9-0 Romic Airapetean which isnt saying much but a bounce back win for the fighter. The winner of this bout will be next in line for the WBA world title so expect fireworks!

Prediction: Coin toss of a fight.
