What Are Some MLB World Series Futures to Make?
As the MLB playoffs are beginning to sure up, this is the time you can get the best odds at what team can win the World Series. Let’s dive into an American League and National League team that have a realistic chance to win the World Series here and why so we can get some tickets in before the regular season concludes. Besides, having one in each league means we have a chance of guaranteeing our money if they meet in the World Series.
Before we dive in, let’s talk about what we should look for in the teams. I like teams that have good records against other teams over .500, good pitching staff, and a little bit of experience.
All of these odds are listed on the Action Network and we will go on the Consensus odds so they may differ a little bit depending on your sportsbook. With that out of the way, let’s dive into some value plays.
New York Yankees
Going with one of the favorites to begin the year, the New York Yankees are being listed at +1200 and have not officially clinched their playoff spot as of this writing. Gerrit Cole has pitched well in the postseason during his career so if they make the Wild Card game, they should be able to win there. I also like the fact that they have Domingo German and Luis Severino as multiple-inning options as well as their high-leverage guys.
The fact they are playing important games to end the regular season and snapped their seven-game winning streak is good to me. They have an experienced lineup that can make the difference and work pitchers as well as scoring 4.41 runs per game this season. This is a value play as they are not even locked in yet but getting the Yankees at +1200 seems like a flyer I am willing to take here.
San Francisco Giants
They have the best record in the majors this season and are holding off the Los Angeles Dodgers to avoid the one-game Wild Card They are listed at +700, which is tied for the third-best odds here. They are 35-28 this season against teams with a winning record as well.
They also have the best record in the sport at 105-54 as of this writing and have not officially clinched the NL West crown, but should do so in the next couple of days. They have a veteran lineup with postseason experience and incredible starting pitching.
They are going to be a tough out and have a 10-9 record over the Dodgers (who they’ll most likely meet in the NLDS). Seems like good odds for the best team in the sport.
Closing
I don’t love to go chalky but baseball is considerably a chalky sport. The Dodgers are another good play but the Giants have been just that much better. The Yankees are clicking and seem to finally have a solid pitching rotation to make it deep into October. What would you bet to be the World Series matchup?
