San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
This game features the best team in the National League, the Dodgers, who are an impressive 60-30. The Dodgers face the division-rival Giants who are 48-43 and in third place in the NL West. LA has been flying high, going 9-1 in its last ten to surpass the New York Mets as the best team in the National League.
The Giants are two games out of the playoffs right now. The 48-win Giants are currently sitting as the eighth-best team in the NL. Meanwhile, the Dodgers rank fifth in the MLB in batting average (.255) and first in on-base percentage at .333.
The Dodgers are -205 favorites in this matchup while the Giants are +202 underdogs. The pitchers in this game are LHP Carlos Rodon for the Giants and RHP Mitch White for the Dodgers.
San Diego Padres vs. New York Mets
The NL East-leading Mets versus the Padres, who occupy the top Wild Card spot. The Padres are in second place in the NL West at 52-42 while the Mets are still on top of the NL East. The game will be played in New York.
The starting pitchers for this matchup are Yu Darvish for San Diego and Max Scherzer for New York. The Mets are -182 favorites to win and the Padres are +154 underdogs. New York is 10-2 when favored by at least -182 on the moneyline.
Scherzer will make his 12th start of the season and is looking to earn his fourth consecutive quality start.
Chicago Cubs vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies open a three-game series against the Cubs in Philly on Friday. The Phillies are one game out of the playoffs at 49-43 while the Cubs are far from the playoff picture at 35-57.
The Phillies are favored at -135 and the Cubs are +115 underdogs. The starting pitchers are Kyle Gibson for Philadelphia and Justin Steele for Chicago. The Phillies have been favorites in 56 games this season but have only won 32 of those games. The Cubs have won 25 games as underdogs this season.
