Why We Will See Alabama vs Clemson for the Fourth Time in the 2021 National Championship Game

The College Football Playoff field has been set and the semifinal games will take place on New Year’s Day. Alabama will meet Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl Game and Clemson will battle Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl. 
 
I know these teams have to play the game to decide a winner fair and square. However, everyone knows who will be competing for the National Championship on January 11th inside Hard Rock Stadium…
 
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers will meet for the fourth time in the playoff era to decide the champion of college football in 2021. If you don’t think this is accurate, you’re crazy! Ohio State and Notre Dame fans don’t even think they have a realistic chance to win on Friday.
 
Here are two reasons why we will see Alabama vs Clemson once again in 2021.

Notre Dame Can’t Hold Alabama’s Jock Strap 

Notre Dame is one of the best teams in college football. They deserve to be amongst the three other teams in the College Football Playoff, but they’re not playing ONE of the best teams in the nation. The Irish are squaring up against THE best team in college football. This year’s Alabama squad is that good.
 
Alabama is scoring 50 points per game and giving up under 20 points per game in the SEC. Let that sink in for a second. 
 
The SEC is the best conference from top to bottom in college football. Mac Jones, Najee Harris, DeVonta Smith, and a punishing Crimson Tide offensive line are putting up close to 550 yards of total offense per contest. 
 
This Alabama team is better than many of the squads that we have seen in past championship seasons. The Tide have won every game by more than one score except for the SEC Championship Game against #7 Florida. The Tide beat the Gators 52-46 to take the SEC crown back to Tuscaloosa. 
 
Notre Dame is good but we’re talking about Alabama. The Tide are favored by 19.5 points against the fourth ranked team in the country. Notre Dame survived against Clemson without Trevor Lawrence earlier this season, but the Irish fell to the Tigers 34-10 in the ACC Championship Game. If Notre Dame couldn’t beat Clemson with Trevor Lawrence, they don’t stand a chance against Alabama.  
 
This game will be over by halftime. Sorry Irish fans, this isn’t going to be your year. 
 

The Right Arm of Trevor Lawrence

Clemson hasn’t been beat with Trevor Lawrence under center this season. The Tigers’ sole loss of 2020 came against Notre Dame in South Bend without the 6’6” gunslinger. Lawrence missed this game because of a positive COVID test.
 
It’s unclear whether a person can get COVID twice, but chances are that Trevor Lawrence will be on the field on January 1st. Without Lawrence, Ohio State could give Clemson a run for their money. With the All-ACC quarterback, Ohio State will have a very tough time taking down the Tigers.
 
Lawrence made an immediate impact in Tiger Town. He has led the team to two straight National Championship Games. Clemson was victorious in 2018 but lost to LSU in 2019 in their past two championship appearances.
 
This season, Lawrence has completed just under 70% of his passes. Against AP Top 25 opponents, Lawrence has thrown for 614 yards and five touchdowns (2 Games). Over his career, he has a QBR of 165 and 9,698 yards to his name. 
 
Clemson hasn’t had a game decided by less than three scores with Lawrence playing in 2020. The junior quarterback makes a big difference for the Tigers. Ohio State is giving up 21 points per game, but over 260 yards through the air. Lawrence is posised for a massive night on one of the biggest stages in college football this Friday. 

College Football Playoff – Final Thoughts

We will see Alabama vs Clemson in the National Championship once again in 2021. Alabama is scary and Trevor Lawrence takes Clemson to a level that other teams can’t match. Except Alabama of course…

I think Ohio State will be in the game for four quarters but won’t prevail in the end. Notre Dame should stay in South Bend to save themselves from the beating that they’re bound to receive from the Crimson Tide. 
 
I know the games must be played, but as far as I’m concerned, the outcomes have already been decided.  
 
Alabama will play Clemson on January 11th for the National Title.
