PLL MVP Betting Odds – How Things Have Changed
As the regular season comes to a close and the playoffs nearby, regular season awards races are shifting unexpectedly. Many fans thought their favorite player was locked in for the PLL MVP, but after a couple of weeks, he’s dropped down 5 spots.
Some players dropped multiple spots, and some came out of nowhere into the top 10. There was a major shift in the PLL MVP betting odds, but only one can come out on top.
Top 10 for PLL MVP
These are the top 10 players in PLL MVP betting odds:
- Trevor Baptiste (+150)
- Lyle Thompson (+250)
- Will Manny (+600)
- Kieran McArdle (+600)
- Jeff Teat (+800)
- Brendan Nichtern (+1400)
- Kyle Bernlohr (+1500)
- Joe Nardella (+1500)
- Tom Schreiber (+2500)
- Michael Sowers (+2500)
Baptiste is the clear favorite, after spending weeks behind his teammate Jeff Teat. However, as time moved forward, Teat’s play has gone from unbelievable to just great, and plainly great players don’t win MVPs.
Kieran McArdle, on the other hand, has shot up the rankings for his incredible hot streak. Not only is his team succeeding down the stretch, but he is as well. After two very slow games to start the season, he has scored 29 of his 31 points in the last 6 games. He managed two 7 point games as well, which is a mark some of the best in the league have yet to reach this year.
Bernlohr is the highest goalie on the list, with reigning PLL MVP Blaze Riorden all the way at No. 20 (+7500). Right next to him is his Whipsnakes teammate Joe Nardella, the next closest FOGO in the MVP race.
Having Nardella and Baptiste both in the top 10 really shows how truly dominant they are at a position that doesn’t see very many minutes. Although they do both determine possession of the game, the two don’t put up many points. However, their incredible performances and Nardella’s stretch after the all-star break show how truly valuable the position is.
Close Behind
Although the top 10 is stacked with incredible talent, there are players to watch out for right outside those rankings. Some of the best positional players in lacrosse just need 2 elite games to put themselves towards the top of that list.
Chris Gray (+3000) is the closest at No. 11, but he has more points scored than Schreiber and Sowers ahead of him. Those two guys may play with more finesse, but Gray is an all-around elite player. If he can rack up two 3 or 4-point games, he could inch his way to No. 8.
The first pick in the draft Logan Wisnauskas of the Chrome gets overshadowed by his counterpart Brendan Nichtern, but he’s the second offensive threat of this team. Of the top 10 players in scoring, only 3 have missed a game, and he’s one of them. He ranks 3rd in the league in 1-point goals, proving his value as the Chrome’s sniper.
