Kansas Sports Betting Launch Delayed

Kansas sports betting legalization is coming, but there is no official launch date set. There was some initial hope that sportsbooks would be live prior to the start of the 2022 NFL season, but that will no longer be the case.

The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is in charge of getting this industry ready for launch, and the process has taken longer than expected. This commission was not concerned that any issues was slowing down the process, and an in-season launch during the football season is expected.

The Kansas Lottery also plays a role in getting the industry up and running, and that includes drafting a set of rules to help regulate sportsbooks. Barring any issues, the first draft of rules should be available on August 12, and that will outline how this industry is going to look.

Kansas is not expected to be a major sports betting market, but that could change depending on what happens with the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Professional sports teams can get in on the betting, and this state is hoping to attract those two franchises.

Kansas Casinos Building Partners

There are four casinos in the state of Kansas, and all four of those properties have the rights to three online sports betting skins. These casinos have been working behind the scenes for years in trying to secure the best partnerships and sports betting operators.

The Hollywood Casino is the only one without at least two sports betting partners as Penn National Gaming will use the Barstool Sportsbook name for one of the skins. The Kansas Star Casino has already announced partnerships with both BetMGM and FanDuel and that could make it a leader in the state.

The other four online sportsbooks that have been confirmed for Kansas sports betting are: Bally Bet, Caesars, DraftKings, and PointsBet. This is going to create a highly competitive market in the state of Kansas and will be a big win for the sports bettors in the state.

FanDuel Accepting New Kansas Sports Betting Customers

FanDuel Sportsbook is going to be ready when legal sports betting launches in Kansas as the operator is currently offering a pre-launch bonus to new customers. This new pre-launch bonus officially launched on August 4 and customers are encouraged to take advantage of the offer before it goes away.

As long as a new customer signs up for a new account prior to the official launch date, FanDuel Sportsbook will credit that account with $100 in free bets. There are no special codes needed for this offer and the $100 will simply be waiting in the account when you log in.

FanDuel is still expected to have its traditional offer of a risk free bet worth up to $1,000 when the sportsbook launches. Other online sportsbooks in Kansas are likely going to follow suit in the coming weeks.
