Kansas Sports Betting is Live
Sports betting is officially live in the state of Kansas as we have reached the month of September. Both online and retail sports betting is available for anyone that is 21 years of age or older and within the state of Kansas.
Kansas is going to be launching sports betting in less than four full months after officially legalizing the industry, and it will allow for sportsbooks to cash in on football betting. This quick launch is actually the second-fastest in the history of legal sports betting in the United States.
There could potentially be up to 12 online sportsbook in Kansas, but there will be six available on the first day. Kansas is now the third U.S. state to launch mobile or online betting in 2022 after New York and Louisiana.
The six online sports betting options that will be available on Thursday, September 1, include: Barstool Sportsbook, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel, and PointsBet. These six operators are among the leaders in the U.S. and will provide some terrific options for sports bettors.
There are three other sportsbooks that are confirmed to have market access in Kansas, but they are waiting for approval from the Kansas Lottery. It’s unclear when Golden Nugget, FOX Bet, and Bally Bet will enter the state, but they will eventually offer mobile sports betting in Kansas.
Pre-Registration Ends, Big Promotions Coming
With the official launch of sports betting in Kansas, all of the pre-registration bonuses and promotions have now gone away. Most of the top options in the state were offering some form of pre-registration bonus as a way to make the first few days run more smoothly.
September 1 does not mean that bonuses will go away though as sportsbooks will now begin to offer welcome bonuses. This is one way for sportsbooks to try to weed out the competition and land the most sports bettors on opening day.
With the Kansas launch coinciding with the start of football season, there will be plenty of additional bonuses and offers in the first few weeks.
Boot Hill Casino Announces Launch Date
Mobile betting is going to be the main focus in the state of Kansas, but retail betting is also legal on September 1 as well. There can only be a potential of four retail sports betting locations in the state, and these locations are not expected to all launch on the same date.
Barstool Sportsbook has already announced plans to open up a temporary retail sportsbook at Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, with a permanent location coming at some point as well. DraftKings is also getting in on the retail sports betting through a partnership with Boot Hill Casino.
DraftKings plans to open up the retail sportsbook at Boot Hill Casino at some point in October, but an official launch date has not been announced. This location should attract bettors from many different states.
