Drew Brees Becomes PointsBet Global Brand Ambassador
Any sportsbook that joins forces with a future Hall of Fame quarterback has a leg up on the competition. This is what PointsBet did when the sportsbook added NFL legend Drew Brees to its team.
PointsBet, a premier global online gaming operator, announced this week that Drew Brees has joined PointsBet as an ambassador for the sportsbook.
Drew Brees Joins PointsBet
Brees retired following the 2020-21 NFL season. He is joining NBC Sports as a member of its broadcast team, making it clear why he was signed by PointsBet. PointsBet’s official sports betting partner is NBC Sports, so Brees will be able to cross-promote both conglomerates.
Betting and sports media companies are becoming more intertwined by the day. High-profile athletes marketing sportsbooks has also become a normality in the industry. Recently, the “Great One,” Wayne Gretzky, formed a partnership with BetMGM.
PointsBet is continuing to expand throughout the United States. The sportsbook made massive headway by partnering with NBC Sports, and signing Brees is the next step to continue growing.
Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, praised Brees and stated that he would be a fantastic addition to the PointsBet brand.
“Today is a massive day for our company as we welcome Drew Brees into the PointsBet family. Drew is renowned for his tireless work ethic and achieved great success in his career regardless of the obstacles in front of him, possessing the scrappy, well-prepared challenger, win-at-all-costs mentality that embodies PointsBet’s DNA. We look forward to collaborating for years to come and integrating Drew across our portfolio to complement PointsBet’s market-leading technology infrastructure and strategic approach to the competitive sports betting space.”
Drew Brees Could Not be More Excited
The deal between Brees and PointsBet is an exclusive multi-year partnership. Brees will receive a significant share of PointsBet stock. Having equity in a growing sportsbook was a deal that Brees could not resist.
Brees will headline and create original content for PointsBet throughout the NFL season. Some of the things PointsBet users will have access to with Brees are live watch parties, promotional bonuses, and picks from the quarterback.
Brees is excited to begin his post-playing journey with PointsBet.
The Super Bowl champion said, “I am excited to team up with PointsBet, a leader in the future of sports entertainment built off elite technology. Sports betting is growing across the country and will positively impact sports engagement, and I am proud to be at the forefront alongside PointsBet and NBC Sports.”
PoinstBet’s odds and lines will be intertwined with NBC Sports content for all sports. The television station will be used to promote the sportsbook as part of the relationship. Brees representing both companies will make joint marketing efforts simple.
Drew Brees was drafted out of Purdue in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played 20 seasons and received nearly every accolade that was possible for an NFL quarterback. Brees is a Super Bowl champion, two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and a 13-time Pro Bowler.
