DraftKings Becomes Co-Exclusive Official Sports Betting Partner of MLB
DraftKings is one of the best sportsbooks in the United States, and the company is in the middle of a strategic expansion. Baseball and betting are becoming closely linked as the industry expands, and DraftKings is looking to take advantage of the trend.
DraftKings is expanding its existing daily fantasy sports and betting partnership with Major League Baseball. The partnership will now include expanded promotions rights and content for MLB within the betting platform.
Details of Latest Deal Between MLB and DraftKings
DraftKings and MLB have been partners since 2012, when sports betting was illegal in the United States. DraftKings was a leading DFS operator before adding sports betting to its platform.
DraftKings is phenomenal regarding baseball betting, and the features are only going to improve. The sportsbook will be enhanced through the latest deal.
A “Bet & Watch” streaming integration will be added that works for bettors who have an active MLB.TV account. Players can sync their sportsbook and league website accounts towatch baseball and bet within the DraftKings app.
This will make live betting simple for DraftKings users. It should also help MLB sell more premium television subscriptions. Both companies also plan to collaborate for future sports betting-themed broadcasts that will be live on MLB.TV.
DraftKings is now the co-exclusive sports betting partner of MLB along with BetMGM. Additionally, the site is still the exclusive DFS partner of the league.
Matt Kalish, the President of DraftKings North America, spoke about his excitement for the latest partnership with MLB
He said, “In 2012, MLB helped ignite the daily fantasy industry by becoming our first-ever league partner, and that same foresight has persisted over the years as our organizations look to disrupt and innovate further through this expansion. As we adapt and scale integrations within the constantly evolving sports landscape, MLB and DraftKings will again shape the future of fan engagement in baseball and beyond.”
Baseball Fans are in for a Treat
DraftKings will be the official sports betting partner for MLB during the entire MLB postseason. There will be DraftKings branding throughout the playoffs, which will dominate television cameras. This will undoubtedly turn bettors to the sportsbook.
In the 2021 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, fans are in for a treat, thanks to DraftKings and MLB. The broadcast will feature a “Hit It Here” trigger, which will allow fans to win World Series tickets.
DraftKings is commemorating the partnership by offering two free games involving the 2021 Home Run Derby. The two pools will total $50,000 in prizes.
Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive VP, was equally excited as Kalish for the new deal.
He stated, “For nearly a decade, our growing relationship with DraftKings has been rooted in fan engagement and the second-screen immersion of sports gaming and entertainment products. This next iteration of unique and experiential offerings is something we look forward to rolling out together as baseball fans continue to embrace technological advances.”
