The idea behind this game is that the lowest poker hand wins the pot. You want to try to make the best hand that you can, by making it as low as possible. This is a draw game, so after you are dealt your five starting cards, you get to choose how many cards you want to get rid of (if any). The “triple draw” part of the game, means that players can draw cards up to three times, with rounds of betting between each round.

2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Rules
The game starts off with a small and big blind, just like in Texas Hold’em or Omaha. Players are all dealt five cards face down, and the round of betting starts with the person to the left of the big blind. After the round of betting is done, each player draws. Each player will select how many cards they want to discard, and they will get new cards to replace those. This draw is then followed with another round of betting, this time with the first player to the left of the button. There are two more draws (totaling three), followed by a round of betting after each. After the final round of betting, there is a showdown and the player with the best low hand wins the pot. If a hand is tied, then the pot is split between the two players with the tied hand.
2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Tips
2-7 Triple Draw is a very interesting game, mainly because you get three chances to draw. You can open a much wider range of hands, but it’s recommended to start with only a second range of hands to avoid giving up chips on a tough draw to hit. If you have something like J-J-K-10-9, it may be better just to fold your hand. The reason for this is that since all players will get three draws, you are much more likely to see hands like 8-7-5-3-2 and 7-high’s as well. 10 high’s and 9 high’s aren’t nearly as valuable in triple draw as they would be in single draw.
Another important thing to remember about Triple Draw is the ability to bluff. If you get into a heads-up situation and your opponent is drawing two or three cards, if you stand pat after two cards (making sure your opponent notices this), and continue to fire out bets; you have a good shot at bluffing your opponent off their hands, especially if they had to continue to chase cards.
