UCL Semi Final Preview
The Quarter Finals of the UCL has concluded and now leaves fans wondering about how the semi finals will play out. We have some great matchups to look forward to in this next stage of the Champions League!
AC Milan will take on their biggest rivals, neighbors Inter Milan. Real Madrid will be put to the test by a strong Manchester City squad.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan
A Milan derby for the UCL SemiFinals is a dream matchup for the fans of Milan. Both teams share the same stadium, San Siro, hence both matches will be played at the same stadium.
This will also be a significant matchup as this is the last year that both teams will play in the current Stadium. There are plans soon for a new stadium for both teams.
AC Milan brushed off a great series of games against Italian league winners Napoli. Milan continue to be dominant with their attacking defense. Games against Inter Milan will put them to their biggest test this season.
AC Milan are making their first Semi’s appearance since 2007. Their recent turnaround has been significant in the last few years for the franchise as a whole. Last year, AC Milan won the Italian league and now climb a step further to European glory.
Inter Milan made their presence clear in a dominant win over Benfica. This squad looks pretty solid at the moment and can definitely make an impact. Inter Milan have not seen this kind of Champions League success since they won the trophy last in 2010.
This should be an overall electric series from start to finish. I expect this game to be as physical as ever and dominated by defense.
Both sides are complete underdogs to have made it this far in the Champions League. Either side to make the final will be a big accomplishment for Italian Soccer.
Real Madrid vs Manchester City
A clash between giants should see an explosive matchup between these two teams. The two teams played each other in last year’s UCL semis and saw Madrid have one of the greatest comebacks in history!
Pep Guardiola is looking for revenge and to finally win his first Champions League title with Manchester City. His squad is looking more lethal with the addition of a very in form Erling Haaland.
Madrid however have the overall squad depth to stop Haaland and Manchester City. Key pieces in their defense and midfielders have been vital to games along with their three top attackers. THe current attacking trio of Rodriygo, Benzema, and Vinicius Jr.
The expectation is that City is favorites to win this matchup and lift the trophy. I do believe this Madrid team might be one of the only teams that can matchup and beat Manchester City. This game will come down to the wire if Madrid are able to contain Haaland.
