The Premier League Title Race

The Premier League Title Race

The English Premier League title race is seriously heating up! The favorites to win the title change after each match that Arsenal and Manchester City play. Arsenal has taken a 5-point lead in the table and is back to being favorites to win it all!

Current Form

Since February 4th, Arsenal started to go on a run of poor results. Losing to Everton, drawing with Brentford, and a bad loss to Manchester City seemed to be all falling apart.

Mikel Arteta’s side turned things around after the loss to City to revive their chances of winning the League. A 4-2 win against Aston Villa gave the Gunners confidence. Arsenal beat Leicester City and Everton to put them on a three-game winning streak.

Newly signed player Leandro Trossard has been playing a vital role in the offense of these games. His adjustment to his new club has shown that he was a bargain. Trossard has been starting as the central attacker and is a key player.

The Young Wingers

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been shining as the best Winger duo in the Premier League. The pair are the only two Premier League players with ten or more goals from the same team. Saka is currently second in the most assists list for the Premier League.

In early February, Gabriel Martinelli signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal. In the current three-game win streak, Martinelli has scored four goals, showing he can be one of the best Wingers in the League.

If Arsenal wants to continue its long-term success, Saka and Martinelli are essential to the future. Saka is due for a new contract extension and will surely get every dime for the way he’s been able to perform.

Gabriel Jesus

On another positive note for the Gunners, their star Forward, Gabriel Jesus, has made significant progress to return soon. Arsenal needs him back to finish off the season in a robust way! If Jesus weren’t injured, I’d imagine that Arsenal would be even ahead in the table this season.

Manchester City

Manchester City must ensure they do not drop points for the rest of the season. The city is 5 points behind the table and will need to win this weekend against Newcastle. The city cannot afford even to Draw games at this point.

Even with goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland, their team needs to be more efficient on the road. Pep’s side needs to work efficiently and play smarter from here on out.

How The Odds Keep Changing

The odds for Arsenal to win the League are -110, and Manchester City is +110. These odds change daily as the bookmakers keep switching between the two sides! After Manchester City beat Arsenal, their odds of winning it all were -175. This shows that we still have a long season, and things are about to get dicey each week!
