UCLA vs Stanford Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 4

The UCLA Bruins and the Stanford Cardinals matchup on Saturday evening in what should be a really good game. We still are unsure of who both of these teams are since we have seen some weird results come from each of these teams. UCLA started off the season with a blowout win over Hawaii and then a 38-27 win over #16 LSU but then fell to hot Fresno State last week. Stanford lost to Kansas State to open the season and then took down #14 USC and Vanderbilt.

Both of these teams are going to be looking for a win that will catapult them into some momentum and this is going to be a game to do just that. The Bruins have been really solid on the offensive side of the field and pretty poor defensively. The Cardinals have been mediocre on the offensive side of the ball and decent on the defensive side of the field. There is one part of both of these teams that stand out though and could decide the game.

UCLA runs the ball very well gaining close to 200 yards on the ground a game. Stanford allows 210 yards a game on the ground. If UCLA gets their ground game going early on, it might be a really simple win for them. If they are not able to, Stanford should be able to pass the ball around the field. I think everyone is hoping for a repeat of the last game between these two teams as that was a 48-47 double-overtime win by Stanford.

Like we mentioned above, if UCLA can get to their running game and can control the close they have a great shot at winning this game. If they can’t, then Stanford will really be able to throw it all over the field. I look for this to be a mix this weekend but I think a good passing game has a little better chance in a game like this.
