- Four of South Carolina’s five games have gone under

The Tennessee Volunteers will return to historic Neyland Stadium this weekend and take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
South Carolina (3-2) was to take down the Troy Trojans and cover their fourth spread of the season last weekend. Sophomore quarterback Luke Doty threw for 255 passing yards and a score en route to a 23-14 victory at home.
Tennessee (3-2) was able to get back in the win column with a blowout of the Missouri Tigers. The Volunteers jumped out to a big 28-3 lead after the first quarter and didn’t look back, crushing the Tigers 62-24.
VT transfer Hendon Hooker had another big day through the air and on the ground, going 15-19 for 225 passing yards, and three touchdowns while adding 80 yards and a score on the ground.

South Carolina vs Tennessee Prediction: Spread
The margin on this SEC battle looks manageable for both sides despite the double-digit number. Most SEC games tend to be contested and finish close, so spotting a struggling South Carolina offense doesn’t sound bad. The Gamecocks have only won at Neyland Stadium twice in eighteen tries, they haven’t played well on the road in the past three seasons.
Tennessee has looked really impressive since their loss to Pittsburgh. Despite losing in the Swamp to Florida, they played the Gators tough, and things really came together last weekend in Missouri. The Volunteers exploded for 62 points, displaying a balance we haven’t seen in what feels like years. Trust their momentum, and trust Tennessee to cover their fourth spread in a row.

South Carolina vs Tennessee Prediction: MoneyLine
South Carolina hasn’t shown enough signs offensively to get behind them on the road this weekend. The Volunteers struck gold as underdogs last weekend, but the same thing might not happen for the Gamecocks Saturday.

There isn’t much value in Tennessee’s moneyline (4:1), but if they come out, and feed off home-field advantage, there could be value within. If the Vols get things going early again after going for 28 in the first against Mizzou last weekend, their first period moneyline could be solid. Take Tennessee’s first-quarter moneyline here.

South Carolina vs Tennessee Prediction: Total
It’d be tough to write off Tennessee’s offense after last weekend’s 62-point output, but even after returning to Neyland, they surely won’t repeat that effort this Saturday. It feels like it could be one of those games that starts a bit slow before the Vols pull away, and while SC’s defense has shown up at times this season, the offense has been underwhelming.
The Gamecocks haven’t surpassed 24 points in four FBS games, while the Volunteers have plateaued 34 points in every game except their loss in Florida. It’s a toss-up, but we’ll sway with the under here.
