Michigan vs Wisconsin Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 5

  • Michigan looks to succeed on offense via their strong rushing attack
  • Wisconsin will prepare to stop the run with their top-ranked rushing defense
  • Michigan defense causes at least two turnovers

The Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers will play one another on Saturday, September 30 in what will be a battle of the rushing game. Michigan likes to run and they are good at it, while Wisconsin is excellent at stopping the run.

The Wolverines come into the game undefeated at 4-0, while the Badgers sit at 1-2. However, Michigan’s games have all come at home so far, so it will be interesting to see how they react to their first road contest of the season.

Michigan vs Wisconsin Prediction: Spread

The Undefeated Michigan Wolverines are not the favorite in this game. How could this be?

Wisconsin has allowed just one rushing touchdown this season. The oddsmakers are trusting that this defense can shut down the strong Michigan running game.

However, the Badgers’ offense has been lackluster. Turning the ball over has become a habit and they will need to limit those mistakes if they want to defeat the Wolverines.

Trusting this Wisconsin offense right now is a pretty big risk, and I am not willing to take that chance. Michigan moves to 5-0 and upsets the odds in a tightly contested ballgame.

Michigan vs Wisconsin Prediction: MoneyLine

The Wolverines running attack will wear down this strong defense. Led by Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum, this rushing duo has become one of the best in all of college football. Haskins has rushed for 322 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Corum has 475 yards on the ground and 7 touchdowns.

The Wolverine offense has been the main reason for the Badgers’ struggles this year. QB Graham Mertz already has thrown 6 interceptions, and Michigan might add to that total on Saturday.

This will be a competitive game, but Michigan holds the advantage.

Michigan vs Wisconsin Prediction: Total

Both of these defenses are fairly strong. This should be a game with many clutch defensive plays and stops. The original total 43.5 is too high for my liking.

With the rushing defense of Wisconsin, mixed in with their poor passing attack on offense, the Badgers almost single-handedly will cause this to be a lower-scoring game.
