Three College Football Teams To Bet Hard This Weekend
Last weekend saw some crazy results in what has been a wild start to the 2020 college football season. Oklahoma lost consecutive times for the first time since 1999, Iowa State beat the Sooners in Ames for the first time since 1960 and Georgia found its quarterback moving forward.
This college football season is off to a great and crazy start, and here are some bets to look at this upcoming weekend.
Clemson Over Miami, Big!
The Hurricanes have been one of the talking points early in the college football season, and have a ton of momentum entering the game against Clemson.
Many fans across the country are hoping for Miami to be back to the early 2000’s, and unfortunately, they aren’t there.
Clemson enters this game as the No. 1 team in the country, for good reason. The Tigers have the best quarterback and running back in college football. Trevor Lawrence has the Tigers once again on their way to the college football playoff, and in complete control of the offense.
Travis Etienne is able to score a touchdown both on the ground or catching a pass, and a guy who is going to have a monster game on Saturday.
Miami is definitely on the right path, but the Hurricanes aren’t quite there yet. The spread is currently 13.5 points, and that isn’t enough.
Clemson 45, Miami 17
Gators are for real
For years, Florida has been a team that has a great defense, but couldn’t score enough points to get the win. Namely, the quarterback play wasn’t good enough.
Those days are done, as the Gators got a star quarterback in Kyle Trask. The senior is everything NFL scouts love in a quarterback. He has a huge arm, he is 6-foot-5 and has plenty of athleticism. He is extremely accurate when throwing the ball, and has arguably the best playmaker on the perimeter in tight end Kyle Pitts.
At 6-foot-6, Pitts is just unguardable in the collegiate game. He is too fast for linebackers, and too big for safeties. He is especially dangerous in the red zone, as he already has six touchdowns in two games.
For anyone wondering about this game, go look and see what Alabama did to the Texas A&M secondary. Let me just say this, Mac Jones threw for 435 yards and four touchdowns in the Crimson Tide’s victory. The Gators are 5.5 favorites, and like Clemson, they will show off in convincing fashion.
Florida 38, Texas A&M 17
One True Contender in the Big 12 Remains
The conference has had a brutal start to the year, as the two most prestigious programs, Oklahoma and Texas have already suffered losses. In terms of the Sooners, they have already loss twice.
If the conference is going to be represented in the college football playoff, then it may rest on the shoulders of Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys are off to a 3-0 start, and have played better in each of their three games. Oklahoma State is led by running back Chuba Hubbard, who is one of the elite running backs in college football.
He is a physical running back, who simply wears defenses out as the game prolongs. He is joined by LD Brown in the backfield, who is the lightning to Hubbard’s thunder.
Wide receiver Tylan Wallace is one of the best players in all of college football. Simply put, the Cowboys have playmakers all over the field.
However, Oklahoma State appears to have the best defense in the Mike Gundy era. The Cowboys have allowed only nine points per game to start the season, and have done a tremendous job of flying to the ball.
Iowa State is coming off a monumental win against Oklahoma, and it will be hard to duplicate that energy. The Cowboys are 6.5 favorites, and they will take care of business at home.
