Bets for Sweet Sixteen
The March Madness Sweet Sixteen starts tomorrow, and it will be thrilling to see how every matchup ends. With the given lines, there could be some good bets to make and consider. With a few of the original favorites having been eliminated already, it should be interesting to see what this round has in store.
Here are my best bets to consider for the Sweet Sixteen:
Kansas State Moneyline Over Michigan State
Kansas State has been playing some great basketball in this tournament. After beating Kentucky in the last round, they will go up against the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans have not been the most lethal team, and many had them going out early.
It’s interesting to see that the oddsmakers have the Spartans as a close favorite for this matchup. I do believe that will be put to the test by Kansas State, who is a much more efficient side.
I like the money line value a lot for Kansas State to go through to the next round.
Miami +7 vs Houston
The Miami Hurricanes put on a great game against the Indiana Hoosiers in the last round in what many thought they might lose. After beating a very strong Hoosiers side, the Canes will face the 1 seed Houston, who have been arguably the best team in the nation.
I do believe that Miami has a great chance of making this a very close game and can really challenge the Cougars. This will be a really tough challenge for Houston, but Miami can definitely cover this spread. I cannot see the Hurricanes getting blown out, and it is possible they will walk away with a win and a ticket to the Elite 8 once again.
Xavier vs Texas Over
This is going to be an extremely close game but also very high scoring. Both teams score very efficiently, and this game will see baskets continuously exchanged. Both teams have scored over 70 points in their tournament games.
I expect this game to hit the over of 149 and be an absolute thriller from start to finish.
UCLA Spread vs Gonzaga
This is definitely the matchup of the Sweet Sixteen. The sports world is highly excited to see two West Coast Basketball programs go head-to-head. UCLA have been arguably one of the best teams in the nation this year. They beat Northwestern in what ended up being a very close game.
Gonzaga is making their eighth straight Sweet Sixteen appearance and has proven how great of a program they keep running. The Zags came back and beat TCU in a great ending to the last round.
I do see this very strong UCLA team pulling off a win in what should be an extremely tight match. UCLA has proven how strong their starting lineup is compared to Gonzaga and has a lot more to prove to keep dancing.
I like UCLA spread at -1.5 for this matchup. The odds seem to be about even but point to UCLA having a slightly better win probability.
