Why the Brooklyn Nets Role Players are More Important Than The Big 3

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, 3 of the best players in the NBA, and they’re all on one team, the Brooklyn Nets. But, what if I told you that the pieces around them 3 are more important for the team’s success than just the big 3.

Blake Griffin

The former All-Star Power Forward, now turning center, was the most important player in game 1 and had a pivotal role in the trashing in game 2 versus the Milwaukee Bucks. He is becoming super impactful because of the different styles of play that he can use.

Blake Griffin, known for being an outstanding athlete and a ferocious dunker in the early part of his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, has changed his game in many ways. While with the Pistons, Griffin took more of a point forward role and became more of an outside shooter, and since he has joined the Nets, he has mainly played as an outside shooter.

In the current series versus the Bucks, Griffin has used all of his play styles. He made some big 3 point shots in game 1, has been rebounding very well, and playing outstanding defense. Blake Griffin, this series has been so much fun to watch, diving for loose balls and playing with so much heart.

Joe Harris

The former Virginia Cavalier has shown that he is the best or one of the best 3 point shooters in the league since joining the Nets. Joe Harris won the 3-point contest a few years ago, and now has one of the best 3 point percentages in the league. The Nets thanked him for all of this by giving him a bag, a 4-year 75-million dollar contract, which is great value for the sharpshooter.

Harris has been lights out from the 3 point line in this series versus the Bucks shooting 8-16, which is 50%. The Bucks are known not to be the best at defending the 3 point line, and Harris has shown off what he can do because of that.

Even without Harden, the best passer on the Nets, Harris has been finding open shots and moving around the court and hitting important shots for this Nets team.

Bruce Brown

Another former Detroit Piston now on this Brooklyn Nets team is the lockdown defender of the team. Bruce Brown, still only 24 years old, is the sixth man of the team and a crucial player on the team.

Brown did an amazing job in round 1 of the playoffs, locking down players like Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker of the Boston Celtics. Against the Bucks, he has to lock down the talents of Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, who are the team’s number 2 and 3 options.

Brown is not known for being the best 3 point shooter but has improved his shooting from the 3 point line. But, the most important parts of Brown’s game is the pick and roll and his cutting ability. When James Harden is on the court, Brown is running in a lot of pick and rolls, which allows Harden to be a playmaker and allow the athletic Bruce Brown to make a shot for himself.

Mike James

Mike James, a not very well-known player, was playing across seas in Europe till pretty recently. He didn’t see much action versus the Celtics, but Steve Nash called his number against the Bucks when Harden went down and has played terrific so far, and fans have been wanting him to play more and more.
