The Reimagined NBA App Will Revolutionize Fan Experience and Make Betting on Basketball More Accessible

In a landmark partnership with Microsoft, the National Basketball Association is launching a highly-anticipated new NBA App which will aim to make the user experience more personalized and streamlined. Read on to learn about the new features in the updated App and see how it will even help to bet on NBA games.

New App and Deal with Microsoft Will Redefine the Way Fans Experience NBA Basketball

Chris Benyarko, Executive Vice President of Direct-to-Consumer for the NBA, said in a statement about the new App, “we are thrilled to deliver a reimagined product that will enhance and personalize the way NBA fans engage with the league on a daily basis.”

In addition to providing higher-quality video content and lower streaming latency, some other highlights of the new NBA App include updates to its live programming and social-style content. The App is loaded with new features, including a game day experience that will provide fans the ability to live stream all pregame and postgame press conferences.

Growth for the NBA and Microsoft

According to Senior Vice President of Media Operations and Technology for the NBA, Ken DeGennaro, Microsoft was selected because of its ability to provide a complete platform to aggregate data and then act on it using advanced AI and machine learning.

DeGennaro explained, “Microsoft has a cloud tailor-made and ready to deliver these streaming services. Those fundamentals are things that have been enabled via Azure and its partner network for the NBA to deliver the best experience to fans.”

Microsoft sees the partnership as an incredible opportunity to capitalize on the NBA’s global market, which has a social media community of over 2 billion people worldwide across the league, team, and player accounts. Deb Cupp, President of Microsoft’s North America Division, told Forbes magazine, “it’s the ability for Microsoft to say, ‘We’re in the live-streaming business.’”

According to its most recent quarterly financial report, Microsoft’s Cloud revenue grew 28% in one year, to a tune of $25 billion. The new partnership with the NBA will inevitably help see that number continue to grow.

NBA Continues to Embrace Legal Sports Betting, NBABet Program Featured on App

In another step to embrace and help legitimize legal sports betting to the masses, the league is bringing the NBABet stream to the NBA App. Produced by NBA TV, the program will feature betting expert Tim Doyle and other industry contributors.

The betting-focused stream will provide the latest betting information during live game coverage, featuring live odds, news, and analysis, and will allow users to keep tabs on betting insights. Once on the App, you can find this feature by clicking on the ‘Discover’ tab at the bottom of the screen, then selecting NBABet under the ‘Explore the NBA section.’

Recent articles, video content, and social media updates by the NBABet Twitter handle will allow fans to stay current with everything that is NBA betting-related. With just a couple of weeks until the regular season tips off, the excitement continues to grow as teams begin preseason and look to build rapport and get ready for the most anticipated season in memory.
