Grizzlies vs. Jazz Prediction
The Memphis Grizzlies will compete against the Utah Jazz for game 4 in this 1 vs. 8 seed series. The Grizzlies were able to steal game 1, but that was because Donovan Mitchell was held out of the lineup. Find out what my thoughts are, and my Grizzlies vs. Jazz prediction is down below.
Ja Morant has played well in this series, with most notably a 47 point game in a losing effort this past Wednesday. Dillon Brooks has also been a consistent 20+ points per game scorer and being a defensive presence. The Grizzlies will have to play consistent offense and defensive, which they haven’t done these past two games.
The Utah Jazz has a fantastic 7-man core that they throw out onto the floor every night. Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley have been fantastic for the past two games. Rudy Gobert leads the team on defense and cleaning up missed shots. Then Utah has two terrific bench scorers and playmakers in Joes Ingles and Jordan Clarkson.
This game 4 will be a true test for the Grizzlies, and the second-youngest team in the NBA will need to bounce back if they want to win this series. The Jazz were the best team in the regular season, and they are looking to prove that they can be the best team in the postseason as well. It should be an exciting game tonight, so don’t miss out.
The Utah Jazz Look to Prove The Haters Wrong
Throughout the sports industry, it seems as if Jazz are counted out in everyone’s mind. They haven’t proved anything in the playoffs for the past 2 or 3 years, so everyone expects them to lose in the first or second round. This team has more playmaking and shooters than ever before, and if they can play like they did the entire regular season, they could make a run.
Donovan Mitchell returning to the lineup has boosted the entire team’s play. In Saturday’s game, Mike Conley went 7-10 from deep and scored 27 points along with 8 assists. Donovan Mitchell had a terrible shooting game, but he managed to pour in 29 points. Rudy Gobert had a great game with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Jordan Clarkson and Bogdan Bogdanovic each chipped in 15 points of their own in a well-rounded scoring effort from Utah. If the Jazz can play pesky defense and continue to knock down threes, they will be good to go for game 4 in Memphis. Expect Donovan Mitchell to play well after a poor shooting performance last game.
The Grizzles Need To Avoid Foul Trouble
Each game in this series, either Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr., or Jonas Valancuinas has been in foul trouble early on. All three of these guys are major contributors for Taylor Jenkin’s crew and need to be playing a load of minutes. Hopefully, they will stay clear from fouls and be able to stay in rhythm throughout the whole game.
In game 3, Ja Morant led the way with 28 points and 7 assists. Dillon Brooks dropped 27 points but on 24 shot attempts. The Grizzlies did not shoot the ball well at all, with the exception of Grayson Allen, who went 5-8 from deep. Memphis just hasn’t gotten in a groove these past two games on offense and needs to figure out different ways to score tonight.
Jonas Valancuinas has been kept in check by Rudy Gobert, and Jaren Jackon Jr. has shot a low percentage all series. If these two big men can get it going tonight, then the Grizzlies have a really good shot at evening up this series. Because we know Ja Morant will put all his heart into avoiding a 3-1 deficit.
Pick and Prediction
The Utah Jazz are -5.5 tonight on the road. The Grizzlies have been in such a rut, and I don’t think that will change tonight. I believe Donovan Mitchell will have a “bubble” like performance where he scores 40 or more points. I’ll take the Jazz at -5.5.
Ja Morant will once again have a solid night with 26 points and 9 assists. Jonas Valaincunas and Rudy Gobert will battle in the paint, and each record a double-double. Donovan Mitchell will be the x-factor, as mentioned above, with an incredible scoring showcase.
You can watch this game on TNT at 9:30 P.M. Eastern time.
Pick: Jazz -5.5
