NBA Championship: The New Odds and Favorites for Next Season
The NBA season has just concluded with the Golden State Warriors winning in six games over the Boston Celtics, allowing them to win the NBA Championship. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green were able to win their fourth ring as a trio.
The 2021-2022 NBA Championship
At the start of the season, the Warrior’s odds were set at +900 odds to win the finals. Meaning if one places 100 dollars the payout would be 900 dollars. The Warriors were able to prove many doubters wrong as the season before they lost in the play-in to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Steph was awarded the Finals MVP award after having one of the best playoffs of his career. During the regular season, Curry was able to win All-Star game MVP after setting a league record with sixteen threes in the All-Star game. He was also able to take home the first Magic Johnson Western conference MVP.
Due to the Warrior’s success this season they have opened up as league favorites to win the title again. They are set as +550 odds to win the finals in the 2022-2023 season. With the roster they have as long as they stay healthy, I do not see anyone being able to beat them in a seven-game series.

The Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics had an incredible season as they were able to finish the second in the east. The Celtics had an extremely young core with Jayson Tatum leading them at the age of twenty-four years old. Tatum had a great season averaging 26.9 PPG, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The second-best player on the Celtics is Jaylen Brown who is currently twenty-five years old, he was a big factor in the Celtic’s long playoff run. The Celtics had one of the hardest roads to the finals, especially as an extremely long season.
In the first round, they had to play the Brooklyn Nets, who have two halls of fame players in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. With the Celtics having the best defensive team in the league they were able to sweep the Nets.
In the second round, they were able to beat the defending champions of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. In the Eastern Conference Finals, they were able to beat the one-seed Miami Heat.
The Celtics open up as second favorites with +600 odds to win the finals, this is a good bet to take as the young core will continue to get better and have a shot at an NBA championship. I predict that they are going to be able to get the one seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets had a very disappointing season this year as the team was unable to stay healthy and was only able to finish as a seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. The Brooklyn Nets were in the top three odds to win the championship this season.
The Brooklyn Nets are again the top three favorites for this upcoming season set as the third favorite at +700 odds. If Kyrie Irving resigns with the Nets and Ben Simmons comes in as a strong defensive player, I see the Nets being able to make a far run and have a good shot at an NBA championship behind the talent of Kevin Durant.
