Former Olympian Michael “Mick” Conlan will test himself against former champion TJ “The Power” Doheny. This 10-round Junior Featherweight clash will take place on home soil for both irish fighters and is sure to be a battle, with a potential title shot in sight for the winner.
Conlan has the bigger fan base between the two fighters but both are considered to be at the elite level. Conlan has a slight reach advantage, height advantage and has youth on his side as well.
Conlan is also very technically sound, being a bronze medal winner in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Doheny is in the backend of his career but still carries serious stopping power that Conlan must respect. He is an aggressive fighter that likes to brawl and land the big shot.
Prediction: Conlan focuses on being technical and avoids a brawl, boxing to a decision victory.
Sergei Gorokhov (+150) vs. Padraig McCrory (-200)
Sergei Gorokhov
11-2-2,7 KOs |
Padraig McCrory
11-0,5 KOs |

Two freight trains collide in this bout between Padraig “The Hammer” McCrory and Russian Sergei Gorokhov. McCrory looks to extend his undefeated record and claim the WBC International Silver super-middleweight title.
Gorokhov won the title in his last bout by TKO against undefeated Marko Nikolic, which washed on former champion’s home soil. After his success on the road, Gorokhov should consider changing his nickname to “Road Warrior” if successful on the road again in his first title defense. This will be McCrory’s first 10 round fight against a champion that is battle-tested.
Prediction: This will be a close fight, I think the champion Gorokhov gets the nod setting up a potential rematch.
Lee McGregor (-2000) vs. Vincent Legrand (+750)
Lee McGregor
10-0, 8KOs |
Vincent Legrand
32-0,17 KOs |
Ranking: 13
Bouts: 10 Rounds: 53 KO%: 80% Age: 24 Nationality: Scotland Stance: Orthodox Height: 5’-7 ½” Reach: N/A |
Ranking: 100
Bouts: 32 Rounds: 151 KO%: 53.13% Age: 30 Nationality: France Stance: Southpaw Height: 5’-8 ½” Reach: N/A |
Lee “Lightning” Mcgregor will put his European title on the line against Vincent Legrand. Mcgregor is a rising star but will be tested as Legrand brings an undefeated record over 32 pro fights to the ring.
Mcgregor has shown amazing stopping power in his young career with an 80% KO rate, his last victorian being a first-round TKO over Karim Guerfi earlier this year. Legrand is the more experienced fighter with 22 more pro bouts and will look to box the young prospect to a decision victory.
Prediction: Mcgregor by KO
Aug. 7: Brentwood, Essex, England (DAZN)
Alen Babic (-2000) vs. Mark Bennett (+750)
Alen Babic
7-0,7 KOs |
Mark Bennett
7-1,1 KOs |
Ranking: N/A
Bouts: 7 Rounds: 16 KO%: 100% Age: 30 Nationality: Croatia Stance: Orthodox Height: 6’-1” Reach: N/A |
Ranking: N/A
Bouts: 8 Rounds: 29 KO%: 12.5% Age: N/A Nationality: UK Stance: Orthodox Height: N/A Reach:N/A |
Croatian Heavyweight contender Alen “The Savage” Babic looks to make quick work of Mark “Bad News” Bennet. Babic produced a devastating one-punch knockout of Damian Chambers in his last bout, giving him a 100% knockout rate in his promising career. It’s hard to bet against “The Savage” here as Bennet has a loss on his record and lacks knockout power.
Prediction: Babic by KO
Kid Galahad (-350) vs. Jazza Dickens (+250)
Kid Galahad
27-1,16 KOs |
Jazza Dickens
30-3,11 KOs |
Ranking: 4
Bouts: 28 Rounds: 171 KO%: 57.14% Age: 31 Nationality: UK Stance: Orthodox Height: 5’-6 ½” Reach: 67” |
Ranking: 10
Bouts: 33 Rounds: 197 KO%: 33.33% Age: 30 Nationality: UK Stance: Southpaw Height: N/A Reach: N/A |
Kid Galahad and Jazza Dickens met back in 2013 which ended with Dickens surrendering an early lead to only be stopped in the 10th round. After the fight both fighters gained mutual respect and have arranged various sparring sessions to contour to push and learn from each other.
“I’ve actually done about 60 or 70 rounds with Jazza Dickens, probably more,” said Galahad.
This friendship will be put on pause come fight night, as both fighters will duke it out for the vacant IBF featherweight title. Both fighters had fought for gold before but were unsuccessful in their respective attempts. With a dream of being a champion on the line between two fighters that know each other so well, this has fight of the year candidate written all over it
Prediction: Too close to call but I would be it goes the distance
