Damian Lillard Potential Next Destination Odds
Damian Lillard has been in the news cycle recently, as speculation is heating up that he may soon approach the Portland Trail Blazers organization with a trade request to get him into a new situation.
Lillard has professed his loyalty to the organization for a long time, but Dame is a competitor, so it must be killing him inside to continuously face first-round exits year in and year out.

- New York Knicks (+250)
- Philadelphia 76ers (+275)

- Los Angeles Clippers (+400)
- Boston Celtics (+450)
Damian Lillard Potential Next Destination
Some Knicks fans are hesitant to mortgage their future for Lillard, who will be 31 years old at the start of next season. However, the time is now for the Knicks to make a move and continue to build off of last season’s success, so if they truly have a shot of landing Lillard, they have to go all in.
RJ Barrett would likely be the centerpiece of any potential deal. It’s hard to part with him, but Lillard is a superstar talent still in the prime of his career.
Damian Lillard and Julius Randle is a nice duo to build around, and if the Knicks can clear up enough cap space, then we can perhaps see them bring in a third star to help them be legitimate contenders for not only the best team in New York, but also for a championship.
Marketing opportunities would be endless if Dame were to put on a Knicks uniform. If the Knicks want to win back control of New York City on a global scale and steal headlines from the Brooklyn Nets, they’re going to need more star power.
The Sixers are another team that can reasonably swing a trade for Dame. Ben Simmons’ future is no longer secure in Philadelphia, so if the Trail Blazers still see Simmons as a building block for the future, then perhaps a deal can be made.
Joel Embiid’s post-scoring clogs the lane for Simmons to drive down, but Lillard can easily overcome that with his abilities to pull up from anywhere on the court. He can even pull up from the logo, hence the nickname “Logo Lillard!”
Lillard would instantly make Philadelphia an overwhelming favorite to go to the Finals next season along with the Brooklyn Nets.
Miami is also another interesting team to look out for. Tyler Herro’s value has gone down significantly, but they still have Precious Achiuwa and draft picks to help sweeten the deal.
If Pat Riley can somehow finesse this deal, then a core of Lillard, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo will have them right back in the mix for a championship.
The Lakers and Clippers probably don’t have the assets to swing a deal for Lillard, unless both teams can somehow get other teams involved in a potential deal. A lot of this would require Portland to act on good faith.
The only way the Celtics can really bring in Lillard is if they’re willing to give up one of Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown. Brown would be the more likely one to go, but odds are Lillard probably doesn’t end up in Boston.
