Golden Knights vs Avalanche Game 5 Prediction
The Golden Knights have shown why Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps and the team that should never be slept on. After a successful two-game homestand for the Golden Knights, they will be traveling back to Colorado for game 5 for their next battle with the Avalanche.
As the title suggests, we’re here to cover Golden Knights vs Avalanche Game 5 predictions! It’s going to be a fiery contest, no doubt about that, but we must be objective going forward, otherwise, our end results might suffer!

Home Field (Rink) Advantage
Home teams have claimed the win in every game so far in this series. With the Avalanche thrashing Vegas 7-1 in game 1 and a more respective showing by Vegas in a close game 2 which ended 3-2. On Vegas’s rink they also won both games in game 3 with a 3-2 win and a big 5-1 win in game 4.
Golden Knights Defense
The last two games of the series where the Golden Knights hosted their defense has been great only allowing a total of 3 goals. They were outshooting the Avalanche by a huge margin of 78-38. Even since Game 1, the Golden Knights are only allowing an average of 2 goals per game.
Importance of Top Lines for Both Teams
It will come down to the top lines for each team, the avalanche line of MacKinnon, Landeskog, and Rantanen didn’t play well in the 2 games in Vegas, while the top line for Vegas of Pacioretty, Stone, and Marchessault were able to neutralize the avalanche fast-paced offense and got their offense going. If this keeps on happening the Golden Knights seem like the better team and a team opponents should be scared of.
Jonathan Marchessault has been a pleasure to watch and a player in form for the Vegas Golden Knights. Marchessault has accounted for four of the team’s eight goals in the last two games, and should look into some prop bets for the insane form he is in currently.
Consistency of the Goalkeepers
As seen in game 1 and game 4 the consistency of goal scoring and goalkeeping quality has not been the best with 7-1 and 5-1 games respectively. Since Fleury has come in net for the Golden Knights, they have looked much better of a team in the defensive tier and much better overall. This allows their offense to stay in games and limit the other team’s chances.
Phillip Grubauer, a Vezina Trophy finalist, did not have a great game 4 but has shown why he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world throughout the season and has to make sure he goes back to his midseason form the rest of the series if the Avalanche want to win this series.
Golden Knights vs Avalanche Game 5 Predictions
- Golden Knights: 1
- Avalanche: 2
I expect the Avalanche to win 2-1 and keep it with the trend of the home field advantage being key in this series, but I have the Avalanche winning in OT via a Nathan Mackinnon goal.
