Euro Group Stage Betting Preview (June 19th)
So far, we have seen some amazing games in the Euro group stage. There have been some surprise teams and some surprise results like Spain, a -280 favorite, drawing with Sweden.
There will continue to be some great games as we get deeper into the tournament, and tomorrow we will get to see some huge stars on the pitch.
Spain vs Poland
Spain, a -280 favorite, finished with a draw against Sweden in their 2020 Euro group stage match-up.Spain dominated Sweden in their opening game on home turf. They held nearly 90% of possession in the first half, but they had no goals to show for it. Spain had 5 shots on goal to Sweden’s 0. The final score, a 0-0 draw.
Poland suffered an upset loss to Slovakia in their Euro group stage match-up. After equalizing the game at 1, Krychowiak was given his second yellow card leaving Poland a man down. Just minutes later, Slovakia capitalized on the man advantage and held the 2-1 lead until the final whistle.
Both teams are going to be playing for a win. Poland has 0 points, and Spain has just 1. A loss for either team basically eliminates them from moving to the knockout stage.
I think Spain is going to be able to keep possession as they did against Sweden, but we are going to see lots more attacking.
Poland is not going to be able to park the bus on defense like Sweden did because they need a win as well. Robert Lewandowski was basically a non-factor in the first game. Look for the offense to play through him in this game against Spain.
I think with both teams desperate for a win, and we are going to see a good amount of scoring. There are going to be plenty of counterattacks. I also think Spain will get the win in this spot because they are the better team and in need of a win.
My Picks:
Spain (-286)
Spain 1H (-125)
Over 2.5 (-125)
Germany vs Portugal
Germany lost to France after a German own goal gave the French squad the victory.I think this is going to be an amazing game. Germany is desperate for a win after falling to France on an own goal from Mats Hummels. In my opinion, Germany looked like the better team against France, who are the tournament betting favorites.
Both teams had just 1 shot on goal, but Germany controlled possession at 59%. In my opinion, Germany is the best team in this tournament. They have skill at every position and held their own against France.
Portugal looked good against a less skilled Hungary team. They won 3-0 with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice. Any time you have a guy like Ronaldo on the field, your team has a chance to win. He makes things happen like no other player can, and it is going to be interesting to see how he performs against a solid Germany squad.
I think Germany is the better team, but Ronaldo is the X factor. I like Germany in this spot simply because they are now in need of a win, and their defense looked amazing in the containment of an amazing French attack. Look for Germany to defend well and counterattack.
My Picks:
Germany (+130)
Germany Draw No Bet (-167)
