Crème de la crème of the sports betting and gaming industry celebrate success at SBC Awards North America 2022
DraftKings, Entain, BetMGM, Catena North America, Caesars Sportsbook, Better Collective, Sportradar and White Hat Gaming were among the companies to celebrate victories at last night’s SBC Awards North America 2022 ceremony at Pier Sixty, Manhattan.
The prestigious ceremony was hosted by YES Network Yankees Clubhouse reporter Meredith Maravokitz. The winners of the 27 operator, affiliate, supplier and payment and compliance categories were announced in front of 600 senior executives from the betting and gaming industry.
Cristian Robalino, VP Marketing, Americas, at SBC, said: “The second edition of SBC Awards North America saw some fierce competition among the shortlisted companies. I would like to congratulate all the winners selected by the expert judges and, at the same time, celebrate all those who made it onto the shortlist for contributing to the growth of the North American sports betting and iGaming industry.”
DraftKings extended its dominance in the Sportsbook of the Year category after being named the winner for the second consecutive year while also collecting the Employer of the Year award. BetMGM was another company that managed to maintain the winner status after triumphing in the Casino Operator of the Year category.
The victors in the operator section of the awards also included Entain Group (Socially Responsible Operator of the Year), who repeated their inaugural SBC Awards North America success in the same category. Caesars Sportsbook (Marketing Campaign & Sponsorship of the Year) and Design Works Gaming (Social Gaming Operator of the Year) were also among the winners.
The ceremony also honoured FanDuel’s Amy Howe, who was presented with the Leader of the Year award for her contribution to the overall success of the industry.
Robalino added: “It is not an easy task to be a leader in this fast-paced, competitive industry. Big congratulations to Amy Howe, who proved that a strong female leader in our industry should be a norm, not an exception.”
The affiliates and media section saw gambling.com named Sports Affiliate of the Year and Catena North America securing the equivalent Casino Affiliate of the Year award. Better Collective triumphed in the Sports Media Company of the Year category.
In the supplier section of the awards, the fiercely contested Sportsbook Supplier of the Year title went to OpenBet while the equivalent Casino Supplier of the Year title went to Light & Wonder. Lottery Supplier of the Year went to International Game Technology, while White Hat Gaming was crowned Platform Provider of the Year.
Sportradar was the ultimate winner in the Live Betting & Gaming Product category. Sports Data IO won in the Sports Data Product category and Xtremepush took home the Marketing & Services Provider of the Year award.
There were also victories for Optimove (Acquisition & Retention Partner), Aristocrat (Land-Based Betting & Gaming Product) and EPIC Risk Management US (Player Protection Service Provider of the Year).
The SBC North America Awards 2022 honoured some brands challenging industry giants. The rising star prizes were presented to BettorEdge (Rising Star of the Year), GAN sports (Rising Star in Sports Betting), and Digital Gaming Corporation (Rising Star in Casino Award).
Everi Holdings was awarded the Payment Solution of the Year title, Paysafe triumphed in the Payment Innovation Category, and Veriff won the Compliance Solution & Partner of the Year.
