Rush Street Interactive to Open Sportsbook in NFL Hall of Fame Village
Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has prolonged its expansion phase and has just recently announced its new business venture, which has caught the eye of many in the gaming industry. RSI confirmed that they would be working with the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company to build a full sportsbook in Ohio at the Hall of Fame Village.
This news comes shortly after Ohio became part of the list of states that have opened their territory and legislative framework to acknowledge and permit sports gambling as part of the state’s gaming industry grid.
To RSI, the agreement will now fulfill a long-term vision the company had set itself to embark upon and which they have just recently succeeded at conquering.
RSI’s Move to Target the Hall of Fame Resort
For RSI and the Hall of Fame Resort, the agreement comes to prove that states can diversify their regulated industry spectrum. The Hall of Fame Village development is a colossal project intended to revive fans’ passion for the sport for both parties.
The project is linked with the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, and the Hall of Fame Village Sports Complex.
It’s part of a diverse offer that is expected to live up to the fans’ concept of what the sport stands for and what it can also bring to everyone in terms of the fan experience and engagement.
Although no monetary specifics were disclosed regarding RSI’s new deal, it was revealed that the agreement is set to take place over a 10-year span.
With these intentions, RSI revealed that they are pursuing a solid expansion in terms of making their service offer present at those sites that will gain much recognition on the side of fans.
A fan engagement zone has been planned for the complex as part of the entertainment company’s expansion plans. This is the destination for the Rush Street retail sportsbook.
Other plans include a performance center and an indoor water park and a Hilton hotel, and mixed-use office space and retail space.
Numerous amenities, including a sportsbook, are poised to come to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Ohio’s Sports Betting Ratification Is Still in Progress
Although it became official that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine placed his final signature on the bill ratifying the state to offer sports betting as a legal practice, the entire legal process will not be completed anytime soon. Experts say that wagers will be placed no earlier than 2022, potentially extending until 2023.
Ohio is now number 33 on the list of states that have ratified sports betting in its territory. This news comes as no surprise to Ohio legislative reps, given the level of business, jobs, and benefits these newly approved pieces of the legislature will bring to the state and its citizens.
The bill has opened an opportunity for establishments such as casinos and sports stadiums to push for the approval of offering sports betting at their sites.
This would allow different participants in the industry to extend the overall sports betting offer across the state.
